Anisotropy of reverberation time

The anisotropy of the reverberation time results in a non-homogeneity of the reverberation time depending on the direction. For example, for a listening point located at the threshold of an open door cathedral, the reverberation time will be longer in the direction of the interior of the cathedral than towards the exterior. In the case of the impulse responses shown in the example, we can hear a longer reverberation time to the right of the listening point.
